Heavy flooding has paralysed many areas of Switzerland, leaving towns and villages stranded. It has not stopped raining since Friday. I have family in Engelberg, near Luzern, who were woken up by emergency sirens and told to prepare for flooding. The river that flows through the valley is already at peak levels, before it flows down to lake Luzern which has already flooded in some places. (Source: Swissinfo)
