Today I sat my driving theory test in order to convert my UK licence to a NZ one. I felt like I was 17 again. I quite enjoyed doing the multiple choice scratch test thing, and am just relieved that its another thing done! It meant learning fascinating things like how wide a load you can have on a trailer and the highly confusing kiwi "give way" rule. Don't ask.My favourite question: You see a pedestrian carrying a white cane across the road. Do you
a) rev the engine to let them know that you are waiting
b) take extra care and allow them to cross the road in their own time
c) turn on the vehichle hazard lights
d) speed up and pass in front of them.
Otherwise things here have been going well - lots happening in preparing for the holiday club, with my space and stars props taking over the office. Its finally looking more like Spring with daffodils and lovely sunny mornings, although this also means the winds are getting stronger. Term 4 will be a really busy time, so we'll have to crank up things to Christmas - although I am really looking forward to a 2 week break in November for some galavanting around the South Island and a trip up to Auckland. One of the highlights this week has been watching the hall toilets being painted lime and lemon - they are amazing! Quite scary, but awesome!
