I love 2 day weeks

These are my daffodils. After a few international phonecalls to check which way to plant bulbs, and a quick turning around so they actually grow up, ahem, they will hopefully appear in Spring. There are 50 in there. I'm expecting at least one to bloom. I'll keep you posted.

I am now a highly supportive advocator of having a public holiday on a Wednesday. It makes for a very enjoyable 2 day week! What a marrrrrrrvellous idea. I chose to live vicariously through my flatmate, Amanda, who got up eagerly at 5.30am for the dawn parade as the New Zealand remembered those who had given their lives in the forces over the years. It was quite fun popping onto our deck and hearing the bells at the tomb of the unknown solider, around the corner, toll both in real life and on the national broadcast on tv. Yes. Geeky, but fun!

Sarah and I spent the day having some good laughs in Jville with the Jfrows, and then came home to make pizza and watch a dvd on our new house dvd player. Some friends won a "today's girl" hot pink/purple (a flat debate) dvd player in a raffle, and having 2 boys, they didn't feel the need to keep it and so our Brougham Street flat is technosavy! Even though we have tv cabinet doors, it still glows from behind the glass.

Other than that, I've been having fun going walking and running all over Mt vic this week - its quite cold most mornings, which is just another incentive to move faster! Our flat is just splendid and we're going on a "flat family adventure" on Saturday. Its an incredible blessing to have a space I can call home here, I love it. Paul, my boss, has just headed off on his 3 month sabbatical, where he'll spend time visiting churches here in NZ and in Washington, USA. Oooh, and apparently there is an article about our Landlubbers holiday club in the Wellingtonian newspaper this week. How very very exciting (see post above!)

And on a lighter note, this made me laugh. A lot. Ben and Jerry's make amazing ice-cream, and why on earth they've started a climate change college, I don't know, but this made for amusing viewing... :o)
