Its been a crazy, long, tiring and rewarding week running the Champions holiday club. What a great week though, with 5 days of Olympic fun later, 60 kids and 30 adults getting stuck in. These weeks are always such a mammoth team effort, with people baking, leading tables, singing in the band, painting, getting up early to come and help me do some prep, preparing crafts - the list goes on. I'm inspired and encouraged by each and every one of the volunteers, adult and youth, who jump in and join the madness.

There were many highlights from this week - including a few leaders turning up as superheroes after I forgot to edit the notes from the last "Junior Heroes" holiday club in April , so the leaders instructions went into great detail about how you should come dressed up a a whacky superhero... and not "your favourite athlete"... oops.... We let Joe light the Olympic torch :)

I've got some time off this week to kick around the capital and just be. I've had the best weekend in ages, just hanging out at home with Sarah and enjoying the finer things in life: wine, dvds, chocolate and conversation. There are some things on at Te Papa that I want to check out too, and I'm long overdue for some beach time out. And an adventure. Its times like this that I wish my family were a bit closer so that I could go home and collapse in a heap on the floor.

Collapsing in a heap on the floor would be good. I wish we were closer too! Te Papa sounds like a splendid idea, and so does the beach. And adventures - wonderful! Take the camera along so you can share them with me. Love you loads!
