Scary......made me wonder how much the bank who i am working for could do for the world if they really wanted.
I guess in todays materalistic society we have lost site of what we need and what we want. I always thought capitalism was great for the way it drives innovation and can increase the living standards for people......but there are problems with it. The 1 laptop for a child program is great, its just a drop in the ocean though.
What really bothered me as a Londoner was the responses to 7/7 when 50+ people died and hundreds more injured and thousands traumatised. I remember hearing that they raised £12million to help the victims. When you look at that compared to what BP make (£1.46 million/hour) you gain an understanding that the little people dont really matter.
I guess this is society today, do we want it.......
