Morning morning

Last week was fun.... I had some great times hanging out with friends and spending some great quality time with people. On Friday morning Sarah FD came over for breakfast - in an enthusiastic moment, I got Naomi to send over her cinnamon buns recipe, and well, I have come to the conclusion that I am no Nigella Lawson. But they turned out ok in the end (after some dramatic overnight rising on their behalf) and although the Elkins laughed heartily at my comedy cooking, they enjoyed munching my culinary disaster! Friday evening was an awesome evening making sushi (don't overstuff!!) with Cookie, Christian & Maggie - Ben and Teri dropped by for some sushi fun too, which is always great. I had a fun girlie DVD night on Saturday, and lunch at Lizzie & Logan's yesterday... its been a food centred week!

Saturday afternoon was great - I made the most of the sunny weather to take a 10km stroll around the peninsula, stopping off at the Chocolate Fish for a smoothie, before heading home. Beautiful views over the harbour & some good time out (see photos)

Work is going ok, and although I'm loving the downtime that the next few months should give me, I need to get a bit more excited about things in general! As things calm down, it can be much easier to miss the UK and not give thanks for the awesome things I have here. There will always be that tension, but God has blessed me with some incredible friendships here to make things easier! What else... I've been making the most of the drums in church to have a bash (in a style not too dissimilar to Animal in the muppets). Teri and I also have exciting plans to transform the office and purge it of all the junk it seems to house, which is very very therapeutic :o) Both of my bosses are in Christchurch at General Synod this week, so it should be a quiet but fun week! Cookie is going in for an operation on Wednesday, so Teri and I have promised her a much awaited "tap dance of joy"... a definite highlight of the upcoming week, I feel!
