It has been Queen's holiday weekend, with a much needed public holiday on the Monday. I had a totally chilled out weekend, getting away from things by crashing at Ben and Teri's on Friday night and keeping Cookie company housesitting yesterday in Lower Hutt. Its been such a great time - playing with Teri's new breadmaker, laughing, watching films, reading & also heading up to a church in Kapiti on Saturday for part of the mission week All Saints has run there. The photo is the view near the top of a mountain (ok, big hill) in the Hutt, overlooking Wellington harbour... after our very lazy day, we redeemed ourselves by hiking up it...I nearly died, but it was worth it!On the work side of things, I went a little crazy with my painting last week and painted a corridor and two preschool rooms in the hall, throwing out 8 black bags of things. It was very therapeutic, purging a LOT of rubbish and getting things sorted to run kids groups in a comfortable space. It needed to be done, and looks just splendid.
