Is it winter or summer?

On Thursday I saw the most amazing number of bust umbrellas in the bins on the side of the road, it was hilirious. What was more hilarious is if you actually catch someone being silly enough trying to use an umbrella. Its an musing sight, it has to be said. So we had gales and torrential rain earlier in the week, and now today was a scorcher. I drove the 2 hours up to Palmerston North for a Summerwine meeting today, and think I've got more freckles on my right arm than my left now. It was good to meet up with the team and go through plans for the camp in January.

Its been a really great week, very very busy. I must say having a proper break does make you more productive, and I'm going to make more of an effort to have those times off now... it pays off in the long run! Its only a few weeks till Christmas, so I've spent the week organising Christmas publicity and a kids "Kiwi Christmas" art exhibition... not forgetting taking charge of decorating the tree at church. It was incredibly theraputic to bin most of the current decorations - I shouldn't have to ask, "why do we need a 3 legged white reindeer with one ear?"

Other news...I have officially handed in my resignation at the Social Justice Commission, and will be taking on a full time position at All Saints as Children's Ministry team leader in January (I am currently two thirds). My job won't change much at all, but it will make the current work load more sustainable for both myself and the church. Doing 2 jobs is quite a feat at the best of times, and although I've enjoyed my 2 days in the SJ office, I'm looking forward to concentrating on the kids ministry.
